Black

Nothing seen, still everything, a wish,
Wanting all, everywhere, giving away nothing,
Pulls in, grabbing, no chance of a skirmish,
No chance of help, not even a serving.
It such a sham, so much that it's surprising,
All know what's there. Why its not out?
Well that's worth surely a questioning.
If nothing else, at least a  wholesome shout.
Nothingness, blank, void, emptiness, call it what you want,
You can be afraid, abhor, detest, put down, but ignore you can't.
It's an enigma. Understand it? Comprehend? Oh! You shan't.
It's something man hasn't been able to grasp, only talk,
Something he takes for granted, though at it he does balk,
It fills the universe, the things that we don't see, it's all the black.

The Big Bluff

It’s only the beginning they say,

It’ll get easier as it goes.

Up or down, you, like the swell may,

It only gets tougher, Oh! It does.

Squeezing out the last of your blood,

Helpless like in a flood,

You get carried away, till you fight back,

Only the tough nuts don’t crack.

Now, when we think of,

Nothing’s easy, it’s never been.

It’s how, when, where you face off,

That’ll give you the sheen.

Never let the bad get in the way,

Of the good you’re given by God’s way.

When the Father who cares, gives you much,

He’ll get you ready to fight the such.

It’s been a lie, that’s held strong,

Through the ages, to lead astray.

You’ll better realize the wrong,

And hold back from the sway.

We learn tough, easy the rest appears,

Our laziness to fight on disappears.

We see through all the fluff,

We realise the ‘easy’ was a ‘Big Bluff’.

Let Me Put It Straight

It has been two years now,
May be a few days here or there,
I promised a trickle,
Thought of a flood.
But now I realise,
There's no value in promises,
No value as long as there's no backing,
From God Almighty.
So now I stop promising,
Now I let Him do His job.
Now I start listening to Him.
Now I start trying what He asks.
I put my self before selfish.
My Guide, My God, My Saviour,
Your servant is ready.

Thanking God Almighty

This is to thank Siva and his father Karupaiah

On 8th May 2014, 6 pm. We- I, Sheryl, Yovanna and Sheryl's Grandma were on our way back from Tirupur when, nearing Sempatti, the timing belt on the car got loose. Not knowing what to do and where to go, I was standing by the roadside asking people for a lift, along came this young man, riding his bike slowly, listening to music on his earphones, he stopped seeing my sign for a lift, hearing of the problem, first gave a lift to Sempatti, came with me to a few workshops, and when no one there was ready to come, sent me back to the car and personally went to Dindigul. The mechanic there told that there was no possibility of mending the car that night. We were faced with the prospect of spending the night on the road. That is when God chose to show us his mercy through my dearest brother Karuppathevar Siva. He asked if we mind staying at his home for the night. It was like asking a starving man if he liked biriyani! He took us home and treated us like we were his siblings. We had just met and here he was giving us full freedom at his home. We stayed there for the night. The next day he made sure that there would be no problems in getting the car towed to Dindigul and also in getting the car repaired. Sheryl, Her Grandmother and Yovanna had stayed back. They prepared food there and had food like they would have done at home. We returned in the late afternoon, happy and thankful to God, especially after hearing that Siva usually never stops or rides slow on his way back home.

Gratitude

That was a journey of wonder,

That  wonder that would've been lost,

If not for your earnest presence,

If not for the unstinted support,

Of those who work their hearts out,

Of those who pray in all earnestness.

We feel blessed to display the best,

We promise to give you the first,

Emotion of well being, happiness,

Emotion of confidence, solidity,

As we close out this passage, happy,

As we start a new one, hopeful.

May we meet again the next time,

May God keep us hale and hearty,

To put in the best we can,

To put out the very best of ours,

Radiate thanks till we meet,

Radiate hope when we meet,

Till then let’s hang in tight,

Till then pray for only the right.

Solitude

Ah! the bliss, to hear what you think,
How you can respond when on the brink,
How you can act and not shrink,
How all your sorrows, you can drink,
How your negatives don't become a chink,
How you can express gratitude without a wink,
This....., is brought out in all clarity,
This is the gift of solitude, God's charity.

When you were surrounded, all around, noises,
Praising you to the sky, clouding your senses,
And, you couldn't count what you really posses.

This is an appraisal of your attitude,
To see for life's journey, you have the aptitude,
This is God's charity, His gift, Solitude.

You, My Lord!

I praise you Lord, for you take my hand,

I know that, You’ll never let me go,

When I’m down, you lift me up,

When in doubt, you give me light,

I put my hands to you in prayer,

And you answer me,

The way you saved us all.

You….. are the reason why,

I live to sing your praise tonight,

Your love for me, held me tight,

That’s what makes me realise……….

You are the only one, and you’ll be so

Till the day this world comes to the end
And we’ll be with you for evermore.      

Your mercy, kindness and your love,

Keeps me going when I’m down,

The glories that your love gives me,

Can’t be replaced by earthly means,

The way up there is filled with thorns,

But, you see me through,
Like You always have.

Give Thanks

When your efforts aren’t noticed,

When thanking you is thought obsolete,

When you are treated like trash,

When all your work gets is a slap,

When happy desires get sad results,

When good intention is met with hatred,

Give thanks to The Lord,

God Almighty will bless you.

When you’re sad and someone regales you,

When you’re down and someone lifts you,

When you’re heavy and someone lightens you,

When you think all is lost  and someone guides you,

When you’re chopped and someone nurtures you,

When you don’t expect and someone helps you,

Give thanks to The Lord,

God Almighty will bless you.

These are ways God tells you, He’s there for you,

This is how He shows, Only He’s there for you,

Give thanks to The Lord,

God Almighty will abundantly bless you.
